West Chester Dragons 50/70 Summer Baseball Clinic
Ages: 11u – 12u (for Fall 2017 Dragons players only)
Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 3:00pm-5:00pm
Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 4:00pm-6:00pm
Held at Kenmara Field at East Bradford Park in West Chester, PA
Clinic Fee: $80
Limited to 16 players. First come, first serve!
The West Chester Dragons 50/70 Baseball Clinic is a two-day clinic of comprehensive skills and drills that will give participants a further understanding and habit forming knowledge base of core skills, proper form, fundamental drills, and one-on-one evaluative coaching.
Day 1: Focus will be offensive instruction stations covering bat grip, athletic stance, power balance, pre-swing load, swing sequence, and hand path as well as proper bunting form stations and drills.
Day 2: Focus will include Pitching and Defense. Emphasis on pitching form, grips, stride, and follow through. The 2nd half will be stations of best practices for infield/outfield play with drills and technique instruction for key fundamental movements.
The clinic is filled with instruction, partner drills, group drills and station sessions on the best approach to hitting, pitching, and fundamentally sound defense.
Players receive:
* 2 days of immersive instruction
* Learn drills and skills to advance your game
* Small group and station style learning
Itinerary:
Wednesday, August 2 - Offensive Day
2:45 PM - Check-In at Kenmara Field – Assign Groups
3:00 PM to 3:15 PM – Warm up, Stretch, Plyos
3:15 PM to 4:15 PM – Station Small Group Hitting Instruction and Rotation
4:15 PM to 5:00 PM – Bunting Technique and Stations
Thursday, August 3 - Pitching & Defense
3:45 PM – Check-In at Kenmara Field – Assign Groups
4:00 PM to 4:15 PM - Warm-up arms, Throwing partners on OF lines
4:15 PM to 5:15 PM – Pitching Instruction and Pitching Station Rotation
5:15 PM to 6:00 PM – Defensive OF/INF Stations and Drills
Instructors will include:
- Tony Laurento – Epstein Hitting Instructor, President of the West Chester Dragons
- Bill Roberts – Pitching Instructor, Vice President of West Chester Dragons
- Cory Sawka – Offensive and Defensive Instruction, Director of Player Development of the West Chester Dragons
What To Wear and Bring
Please wear baseball attire, including baseball pants, hat, cleats, athletic cup and the Dragons practice jersey (if you already have one). Each participant must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, helmet, catcher's gear (if you are a catcher), water bottle and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete.
Clinic Check-in
Check-in at 2:45 PM on Wednesday and 3:45 PM on Thursday at Kenmara Field.
