KEVIN ZYNN
Coach Kevin has been on the Dragons coaching staff since the Fall of 2015 where he started as an assistant on the 9U team. Kevin began coaching youth baseball at Pequea Valley in 2013. He has led Pequea Valley’s most successful teams to league championships at the highest level and most recently an undefeated season where the team only gave up 12 runs in 18 games. Kevin played High School baseball for Pequea Valley, was one of the team captains and defensive player of the year his Junior and Senior years as a catcher making first team all-star for Lancaster County. Following graduation in 1997, Kevin went on to play collegiate baseball at Penn State Berks where in his Freshman year he took over the catching duties. Prior to the end of that season competitive baseball came to an end for Kevin as a collision at home plate dislocated his throwing shoulder. Following the injury Kevin turned his attention to umpiring for a few years. He could be found behind the plate once again in Lancaster County umpiring youth baseball games. Kevin is a very defensive minded coach and is quite often heard saying, it only takes one run to win a ballgame. Kevin strives to teach good communication, work ethic and character as these skills not only help on a baseball field but will help the kids as they grow and become leaders in the community.
