One Annual MLB-Style Season: Winter, Spring, Summer & FALL
Tryouts held late October of previous year
For ages 9U-11U, season runs January through mid-October
For ages 12U and above, season runs January through mid-October, with a break for school baseball in the Spring
1-2 weekly team practices
The Dragons have created an exciting annual MLB-style Season that begins in January and concludes in mid-October. This structure better serves our member families, delivers more baseball value and allows us to schedule the majority of our outdoor baseball during the optimal weather months of May through September.
Winter Team Skills Training Program: January through March
Our season kicks off in January with a 12-week indoor Winter Team Skills Training Program. Baseball players are made in the off-season, and our winter program is invaluable in the development of the Dragons baseball players.
For players interested in additional specific winter training, there are multiple optional programs and clinics offered. Optional programs are à la carte and include:
Arm Care and Development Program (Weighted Ball Program)
One-on-One Hitting Sessions with Coach Tony
Tournaments & Outdoor Team Practice: April through mid-October
Team practices move outdoors in early April, with the tournament season beginning in April and continuing through mid-October. “Off Periods” are incorporated into each team schedule to allow for family vacations and any rescheduling of canceled tournaments.
Team practices are held once or twice per week, usually at our home fields in West Chester. Dragons teams play in 13 local and out-of-state tournaments in New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, at venues such as The Ripken Experience Aberdeen, Perfect Game, Triple Crown Sports and Diamond Nation, Sports At The Beach and Cooperstown Dreams Park (12U only).
Tryouts are held in late October of the previous year. Limited Tryouts may also be held in July to fill any open roster spots for the Fall tournament season.
Team Fees: The annual Season cost ranges from $2,000-$2,900, divided into affordable installment payments. Costs vary by team depending on the tournaments entered, field rentals, league fees, coaching fees, insurance and other factors. If your player needs to purchase a uniform, the jersey is $69, hats are $20 and practice tees are $20.
